The Politecnico di Torino (POLITO), founded in 1906 from the roots of the Technical School for Engineers created in 1859, is one of the most important universities in Europe for engineering and architectural studies, strongly committed to collaboration with industry. The Energy Department (DENERG) and the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) contribute to KICStartH2.
Professor Massimo Santarelli is the KICStartH2 lead for POLITO. He is a professor in Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer and also an Affiliated Professor in Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden), an Affiliated Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago (Chicago, Illinois, USA), and provides teaching at UPC (Barcelona, Spain) and the Université de Lorraine (Nancy, France).
